I believe it's a law that every blog has a cat picture. Here's my horrible monster.

Mmmm, pie
My first pie made from scratch. Still waiting for it to cool so I can cut in to it and have a taste.

Backyard of DOOM!
First day playing with my new B+W ND110 filter. 60 second exposure at 2:00 pm. This filter is going to be so cool!
Heavily processed in Photoshop to decrease saturation and increase contrast.

Hit!
Pirates vs. The Rockies.
Took in the Rockies game today. Took more than 160 pictures and got maybe 10 decent shots. Sports photography isn't my strong suit.

When I try to sleep at night
Inspired by "Biko" by Peter Gabriel. The picture has nothing to do with Stephen Biko or the song. It's what came to mind when I thought about the lyrics:
When I try to sleep at night
I can only dream in red
The outside world is black and white
With only one color, dead

Playing with fire
This weekend was macro time. After getting all of the shots I had planned, I wanted to play with lighting smoke. Unfortunately, matches give off surprisingly little smoke, so I went for flame instead.

How Fortunate The Man With None
This is the first in a new series of images inspired by song titles or lyrics. This one was inspired by "How Fortunate The Man With None" by Dead Can Dance.
I'm not completely happy with it. It's not as stark and gritty as I wanted and doesn't convey the hopelessness and depressing mood I was aiming for. Plus, it was really cold laying on the cement.

Ski Train to Winter Park
This is a composite of two photos. Proper exposure of the train would blow out the highlights on the platform. I took two shots several stops apart to get the correct exposure for each area and combined them in Photoshop.
